Europe CB.DoD joins ESL.DoD *Update*

As there was quite some confusion in the last days about the upcoming Fall Season for Day of Defeat: Source i can finally clear up things now. Every ClanBase Admin will join up with the ESL and we will host our tournaments there from now on. We will have a full season, which means a big tournament which is free for all teams to sign up and play, with a seperate division where we invite the 16 best european clans to play. In addition we will host a tournament finally again for national teams where our countries can play against each other.

This step has many reasons, but we really think it will unite the community once more and everyone benefits from it. Admins and players will get a lot better support now, we can hand out prices for the tournaments again to the clans and have a working anti-cheat. The current ESL admins will still take care about the strong french and german national league and together with the 6on6 ladder we will give DoD:S a real good structure and basis to play and develop. It is not planned that our tournaments are going to cost money, do not worry about that. You neither need a premium account or trusted level!

Together with me DeadEye, Loki, reiben`, Steiner, jitz, esco`, Raynii and Apu are going to take over the european dod section and guarantee you qualitiy tournaments like in the last 7 years. Even new admins applied already!

We are going to create the signups as soon as possible now and wait for the community to follow us. More details will follow, be sure everything is going to be planned really well and you will see the best cup Day of Defeat had so far. Join us, give us feedback what you want and expect that if you have any problems just ask and we do our best to solve it so that more than the majority is happy to make this step forward with us.

I`m 100% sure you will see within time how this turns out to be the best what could happen to us as a community. We`re even closer now with zP!, so we still have our Highlights of the week fragmovies and we will take care about good coverage and such things.

Thanks for your attention and i hope to see you in this season! Be sure we will do the best for us DoD players and we will listen to everyone who wants to help. Don`t be concerned about the Website or how to create a team, penalty points, rules and all such stuff. We will explain every aspect in detail with tutorials to make all things easy and understandable, just give us some time and no one will be disappointed.

Here is a small interview with fAn for mystix.fr:
Hi fAn, can you tell to our readers who you are in a few lines?
Hello! My name is Florian, i`m a 24 years old student from germany and i`m dedicated in the Day of Defeat scene since seven years now. Some might remember me from several projects i could realize and as a player.

What type of cups do you plan to organize for the upcoming season?
We will take over the 6on6 DoD:S business on the ESL, which means we focus on three main cups that we did with ClanBase too. They were known as EuroCup, OpenCup and NationsCup, but the names have to change now. Still the system will be the same, one NC each year and a EC/OC in spring and fall. Together with this the strong german and french national league will be pushed and there are plans to make the 6on6 ladder attractive again. As additional candy we will host events again like a small christmas tournament and work together with zP! on cool stuff for the community.

Why did you choose to host your cups projects on ESL, and not on ED or another website as well?
We worked together with the ESL since the beginning of DoD:S to set a better european standard in DoD, we already had similar rules, configs, map rotations and things like this. The idea to join them exists even longer, but now we really get the support we want an can offer to the clans even some prices and a decent anti-cheat tool and many things the community will benefit from.

ESL is criticized a lot for its non-accessibility for beginners' teams, and mainly for the PP-system that is pretty strict. Will you and another admins keep that in mind and try to find solutions to those problems?
We are planning to write tutorials in every language for the teams that still want to play our events. And for those who dont know our admin philosophy: we will stick to the (soon reworked and updated) rules but we will never ruin a match with a forfeit or penaltypoints without thinking about the decision and find the best solution for the teams. Some teams were right about their critic, but the older ESL admins were just a bit unexperienced in some cases and with our knowledge now we will turn the negative aspects into positive ones.

Thanks for your time. Something to say to our readers?
Contact us if you have any wishes, suggestions or questions about the new league and season, we will always listen to the community as we are all a part of it too. I hope all teams who want to play DoD at a well organized level will join and follow us, we can give an attractive basis to play for every skill level.

Denmark Changes in Roskilde Ravens - Holbek Joins!

To prepare for upcoming tournaments in the fall, the danish eSport organisation
Roskilde Ravens decided to make some changes after some dissapointing performances at AEF and TEX LAN.

Beside the fact that former RS-Player Lars-Michael "LM" Milo-Sydow will replace
Mik "Champ" Bødtker, Roskilde Ravens will also welcome a new face. His name is non other than old Day of Defeat Source-player Kristian "Holbek" Holbek who will lead the team in the future, because former teamleader Kenneth “fRiJeC” Jensen is no longer part of the Roskilde Call of Duty 4 team. He will be concentrating on new projects within Roskilde Ravens and the next edition of a LAN called "the-eXperience".

Statement from Jens "Christian" Ringdal, their organisation manager:
Kenneth is more than just a player; he has huge potential when it comes to eSport, knowing organisations, teams and players etc. It has been hard to work fully with these qualifications while Kenneth was playing actively for Ravens. With the reorganisation of our Call of Duty 4 team this is now possible.
Statement from Jamie “Zino” Bach, their teammanager:
We have seen Champ perform amazingly at both CDC4 and i33, but at both AEF and TEX he was not near past performances. I have had talks with Champ about this and it has come clear that he needs a break from the high level of gaming until he has once again found the sparkle that made him one of the best snipers in Europe.
The new Roskilde Ravens line-up looks now like this:
  • Kristian "Holbek" Holbek (Teamleader)
  • Emil "Hiffer" Ervolder
  • Frederik "Huggo" Christensen
  • Lars-Michael "LM" Milo-Sydow
  • Brian "wmzY" Bie

  • André "R3CoR" Jensen (Backup)
  • Mik ”Champ” Bødtker (Backup)

  • Jamie ”Zino” Bach (Manager)
We from zpgaming.net wish the Roskilde Ravens and especially our old veteran Holbek the best of luck in the future. Make our community proud!
